COMPETITIVE GROM GIRLS

Coach recommendation and approval is required for this program.

Designed for the somewhat competitive girl snowboarder aged 8 to 12 years old who is looking to compete while maintaining a fun, relaxed training environment. This program will allow girls to progress their freestyle snowboard skills with a mix of girls only and co-ed sessions to optimize progression. This program will encourage girls to not only progress their own snowboard skills but to support each other throughout the season to maintain a progressive team mentality. This program offers the opportunity for 4 Friday mountain camps to promote the importance of a well-rounded snowboard skill set that can help girls tackle challenges both on and off the hill. Coaches expect girls to be motivated with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to individual and team progression.

Full GROM dryland package is mandatory and is in addition to the on-snow program cost.

  • Pre-season orientation for parents and athletes to discuss the season’s contests (date TBA)
  • 3 hrs per session
  • 5:1 Athlete to Coach Ratio
  • Sessions available Monday – Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Canada Olympic Park
  • 4 Friday Mountain Camps – January 12th, February 2nd, 16th and March 9th (transportation included)
  • Includes Alberta Snowboarding Association membership

Cost:

  • 2 sessions 6 hrs per week + 4 Friday Camps  $1950
  • Club fee is $65

Coaches expect riders to be motivated with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to individual and team progression. Full GROM dryland package is mandatory.

  • 5:1 Athlete to Coach Ratio
  • Sessions available Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Canada Olympic Park

Targeted towards the competitive girl aged 11 to 17 years old who is looking to compete while maintaining a fun, relaxed training environment.The program will allow girls to progress their snowboard skills with a mix of girls only and co-ed sessions to optimize progression and will encourage girls to not only progress their own snowboard skills but to support each other throughout the season to maintain a progressive team mentality. It includes 2 Saturday mountain camps and the Girls Kicking Horse Camp to promote the importance of a well-rounded snowboard skill set that can help girls tackle challenges both on and off the hill. Coaches expect girls to be motivated with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to individual and team progression. Riders can expect to compete in 1-3 competitions throughout the winter (coaching at events included). Full Dryland package is mandatory.

  • Sessions run Tuesday & Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Canada Olympic Park
  • 3 hrs per session
  • Kicking Horse Girls Camp (date TBD, lift tickets not included)

Off Snow: $699.00 + GST (Full Dryland Program General Fitness and Aerial Awareness)

On Snow: $2,285.00 + Club fee + GST – 2 nights/week (includes 2 mountain sessions and Kicking Horse Girls Camp)

PUSHING FOR THE PODIUM

Pushing for the Podium (must contact Head Coach to register)

PFTP is designed for the dedicated athlete that attends a Sports School or that has the flexibility to train during the day. PFTP is for the avid freestyle competitive snowboarder desiring the most “on snow” and cross training time possible. This high performance, year round training program prepares athletes for the Alberta series, Canadian Nationals, Pro Circuit series and includes many “off snow” services as well as consistent access to our top coaches.

“On Snow” 3-4 training sessions per week including but not limited to:

  • Mid-November to mid-March
  • Purchase of a FIS License
  • Night/Day before competition training (if applicable)
  • ASA Alberta Series events (entry fee not included)
  • FIS/TTR events (entry fee not included)
  • Freeride Mountain Camps
  • National Championship (if applicable – depending on rider’s goals)
  • Early Winter/Spring camp coaching/chaperone (Western Canadian Mountains)
  • Summer camp coaching/chaperone (Mt Hood)
  • Participation in industry sponsored events will be discussed with coaches/riders

“Off Snow”

  • Dryland Training Pro (Includes personal trainer)
  • Tramp Training Pro (9 sessions)
  • Program qualifies riders for a CWSAA pass (CWSAA criteria must be met)
  • Includes Alberta Snowboard Association membership

  • Dryland Training at The Compound – 8 Spring Sessions and 4 Summer Sessions

*These programs were designed by the same trainer that Canada Snowboard has contracted out to train their National Team.

  • Skateboard sessions and Max Air Tramp sessions
  • Full access to The Compound Monday-Friday 10am-4pm and during Drop In sessions
  • We will be building each PFTP athlete their own YTP (Yearly Training Plan). This is basically your whole year on one excel sheet to help stagger your training appropriately. Rest and Recovery is important and knowing when to train hard and when to lay off the gas is critical when training at such high volumes.
